Carcinomas pavimentocelulares supraglóticos em estadios iniciais: Experiência de 10 anos do IPOLFG

Objetivos: Analisar o impacto do tratamento instituído nos resultados oncológicos de doentes com carcinomas pavimentocelulares supraglóticos T1/T2N0 (CPCST1/T2N0).
Desenho: Estudo retrospetivo.
Materiais e métodos: Revisão dos processos clínicos de doentes diagnosticados com CPCST1/T2N0 no Serviço de Otorrinolaringologia do IPOLFG entre 01-01-2005 e 31-12- 2014. Foram incluídos os doentes submetidos a tratamento com laringectomia parcial ou radioterapia definitiva (RTd) e foram excluídos aqueles com tumores síncronos da cabeça e pescoço ou antecedentes de CPC da laringe.
Para comparação dos resultados oncológicos, foram excluídos os doentes submetidos a cirurgia com tratamento adjuvante. Foram formados dois grupos de estudo: grupo cirúrgico e grupo RTd.
Resultados: O grupo cirúrgico apresentou uma sobrevida total mais elevada, mas uma sobrevida livre de doença mais baixa relativamente ao grupo RTd.
Conclusões: Comparando o grupo cirúrgico com o grupo RTd, não se verificou diferença estatisticamente significativa em termos de sobrevida.
