Solitary extramedullary plasmocytoma as differential diagnosis of oropharyngeal mass

Extramedullary plasmocitoma is a rare variant of low grade lymphoma. It is a localized neoplasm of soft tissue(1). 80% of the cases occurs in the head and neck and represents less than 1% of all neoplasms in this area(1,2).
The aim of this paper is to present a case of extramedullary plasmocytoma of palatine tonsil, and to review the diagnostic and therapeutic protocols of this rare type of neoplasm that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of tumors of the tonsils.
