Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease or necrotizing histiocytic lymphadenitis is a very rare entity in Spain, more frequently observed in oriental countries and young women. Fever and cervical adenopathy are typical. Due to its benign evolution towards a spontaneous healing in some weeks, this disease could be infradiagnosed. Diagnosis is based on the affected lymph node biopsy. It is important the differential diagnosis with infectious lymphadenitis and especially with malignant lymphomas, because Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease doesn’t need any treatment. May be related with rheumatic or neurophatic diseases and we think that ENT surgeon should not forget this unusual sickness. We report a 21-year-old woman with Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease.
