Abstract

Introduction: Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease (KFD) is considered to be a benign pathology, affecting seldom in our geography, but frequently in Asia.

Because of its nowadays more usual bearing in mind when studying fever and adenopaties processes, it is getting more and more habitual in Europe and US. So, it might be that it has been underestimated and underdiagnosed up to now.

Unknown ethiology, yet, the most accepted theory is viral. It is also thought to be connected with autoimmune pathologies as Systemic Lupus Eritematous.

Its evolution tends to be benign and autolimited, having a snide beginning and non specific clinical features, except for neck lumps.

Definite diagnosis is based on histology and immunehistochemistry, and although no therapy is indicated, steroid /non steroid anti-inflamatories may be used.

Material-Methods/Results: we report 3 clinical cases and a revision of the pathology.

Conclusions: Despite the KFD rare presentation, we must be awared of it as patients might be misdiagnosed and receive wrong and hazardous treatment.
