Nasal polyposis in childhood

The authors report a case of a 7 years-old boy, who attended the ENT Department of Garcia de Orta Hospital, complaining of nasal obstruction and rhinorrhea. After physical examination and complementary exams, nasal and sinus polyposis associated to a gene mutation related to Cystic Fibrosis was diagnosed. Due to the rarity of this disease in children and to the difficulty to make a diagnosis, the authors report this case and review some important aspects of polyposis in childhood.
