Abstract

Over the lost decades, there was a substantial increase in the prevalence of allergic rhinitis, being subdiagnosis and subtreatment generally accepted as a major hazard for the quality of life of those patients, suffering with this chronic inflammatory disease.

The aim of this review is to present national epidemiological data an the prevalence of rhinitis, characterizing some risk factors, and stressing the need of an accurate diagnosis of this clinical situation, so prevalent in our country.
