PROTRUDING JUGULAR BULB lN A PATIENT WITH CHOLESTEATOME - CASE STUDY

The jugular bulb in the middle ear may show a lot of anatomic variations; with overage dimensions of 15mm wide X 20mm high, these can vary as much as 10mm without beeing considered a malformation. The protruding jugular bulb is the second most common vascular anomaly of the temporal bane.
Objective: Revision of the international literature of this kind of malformation, presentation of a case of cholesteatoma and of the cirurgical tecnic (Modilied Radical Mostoidectomy).
Methods and materials: Case study of on chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma in wicth the CT discrebed a protruding jugular bulb.
Conclusion: This is a rare condition that brings o lot of obstacles in the chirurgie; the authors report the complications and the treatment.
