Novas entidades nasossinusais: atualização clínica e revisão crítica

Introdução: A Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) publicou recentemente a 4ª edição da Classificação dos Tumores da Cabeça e Pescoço com várias atualizações na categorização dos tumores nasossinusais.
Objetivos: Realizar uma revisão crítica das entidades nasossinusais emergentes e das novidades da classificação. Sumariar as principais implicações na prática clínica.
Material e Métodos: Revisão da literatura da base de dados PubMed sobre novos tumores nasossinusais até maio de 2020.
Resultados: Esta revisão descreve a apresentação, imagiologia, histopatologia, tratamento e prognóstico de entidades nasossinusais emergentes e recentemente reconhecidas. Inclui o carcinoma NUT, o carcinoma SMARCB1 negativo, o carcinoma multifenotípico relacionado com o HPV, o hamartoma adenomatóide epitelial respiratório, o hamartoma seromucinoso, o sarcoma nasossinusal bifenotípico e o hamartoma condromesenquimatoso.
Conclusões: Algumas das novidades são ainda alvo de estudo intenso e discussão e por isso vulneráveis à mudança, enquanto outras poderão vir a determinar alterações nos paradigmas do diagnóstico e tratamento destes doentes.
